deep tissue massage
Deep Tissue Massage creates micro-tears in the fascia which fill with elastin and collagen in 2-3 days. This creates more flexible muscles and improves range of motion.Deep tissue massage shouldn’t be painful. Well-trained massage therapists work very slowly within the client’s tolerance to stretch muscle layers without causing pain or damage. It often results in some soreness afterwards, but you should feel better, not worse following your massage. Choose deep tissue massage for chronic muscular pain, posture improvement, and for increasing range of motion.
Neuromuscular massage (NMT)
Neuromuscular Massage (NMT) is the utilization of static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body (muscles, tendons, and connective tissue) to balance the central nervous system. NMT can be painful initially, but the pressure or the massage should help alleviate the muscle spasm. At this point, it is very important to communicate with the massage therapist regarding the pressure used – too much pressure, not enough, getting better, getting worse.
